Re: rough time

thanks @Appleblossom Heart
Im really over it all. ill wait till Monday and see how it goes. I honestly don't want to go to my gp either. id rather go to the womens health clinic instead but I need scripts done up for my other medications. not that comfortable around my gp haven't been for a while but she is ok for most things. seems abit weird to go to 2 different drs in one day.

Re: rough time

@outlander Do what you HAVE TO DO.  Eventually that will sort things out.

Heart

I have felt guilt feelings about having too many health appointments, but as things are actually turning a corner for the good, it seems they are necessary.

Re: rough time

Thank you @Appleblossom
I decided to try and end the day in a more positive way by going for a drive along the beach. the beauty of daylight savings its still really nice at 6/7pm. and then had a bath and now watching a movie with a cup of tea.

ill see how I go with the appointments. If its abit better by Friday I wont worry about making an appointment with the clinic and will just see me gp. I guess part of me would rather the clinic as this is part of what they specialise in. ill see how it goes though.

Re: rough time

Hi @Appleblossom @outlander

I agree with Apple Outlander - do what you have to do

If you need pain medication and your GP is telling you that then for the time being that is necessary

But it depends on a lot - and who is prescribing them - and not up to you really but rather the specialist that did the operation - if it's causing you this much pain then she does need to find out at least what is causing so much pain and the other medical problems you have

And I know you probably signed something about the risks but the pain needs to be investigated - and any there are restrictions on how much pain medication a GP can prescribe

I don't know just how rough this is for you but I have been through this myself and I have been through all of this myself. It is really tough

But it's on you to be assertive and make your specialist hear - that is a hard thing to do I know

I really do know

Re: rough time

Hello @Owlunar
Yeah im ok with taking the pain killers for the post op stuff, its just really hard to be told theres nothing they can do except to tell me to take pain relief when I need it. i don't use the stronger pain meds now, i can get them if i need but i don't find them effective and they just make me feel sick so OTC pain meds are better for me. the nerve issues are painful and really bothersome both mentally and physically but i see her in a month and can talk to her again then

the other medical issue ive been worrying over and the recent drs appt today with yet again being told to take pain killers without really listening or even checking anything out is for a form of contraception that i had put in to help with pcos. i see my regular gp on Monday so ill just monitor these symptoms related to that until then unless it gets to a point i need urgent help or it really cant wait.

Re: rough time

I hear you @outlander

I could take more medication than I do - I put up with a certain degree of pain for one of the reasons you do - they can stop working and so I am really careful so this doesn't happen

I see that you are working hard on these issues and working them out - pretty much we have some of the same stuff happening - about pain and medication

The thing I think you know you have to do is to make that specialist hear - and your GP - you want the reason for the pain dealt with

It's not easy

Re: rough time

Sounds like a lovely drive.

I drove to part of town near where I used to live, SO a trip down Memory Lane, and met some old friends for a night of poetry and music.  It was GOOD.  The barman made me a Lemon Lime and Bitters from scratch and did not overcharge!

I have an appointment with another gp tomorrow morning who has the area of expertise I need it in. hopefully she will be more helpful then saying take pain relief and will actually check what might be happening.
