I feel you @Oaktree I have many opinions on the current state of our MH system. There's too many gaps, too much stigma, and too much pressure on the individual to change rather than an acknowledgement of how much our social, cultural, and economic context influences mental health. Change needs to happen at every level; there needs to be more crossover between MH and medical systems, and more community and groups programs that help to facilitate community and connection, among other changes (like the way we respond to suicidality, as you mentioned).
If you're passionate about it, I can imagine there's activist groups about, or you could study MH policy and practice in the hopes of moving into a position where you can influence it, or look to your local govt to see if there's any kind of campaigning going on... It's such a long road, but the more folks like you willing to stand up and tell it like it is, and utilise the value of your lived experience, the quicker it'll go. I hope you find something to put your voice to 💜

I just googled looking for action groups in my state but it just came up with the big organisations. I might put some thought into what we need to ask for and then start a petition on change.org
