Something’s not right

Depression

Re: Depression

That's no good @Alison2022 . Do you have a GP or other health professional you can talk to about how you've been feeling. It can be tough making that first step but personally I found once I spoke about how bad my anxiety was getting to my GP I felt so much better. You may benefit from seeing a psychologist, counsellor, psychiatrist etc all of whom your GP can refer you to.

Reaching out here is also a great therapy too. Do you have a support network such as family and friends you can talk to?

Sending hugs

Hanami

Re: Depression

@hanami Yes I am very lucky to have an extremely good GP. I also have a psychiatrist and am looking into getting a psychologist. It’s just so expensive!

Re: Depression

That's great @Alison2022 . I have a good GP too. I hear you re how expensive it can get. Between medication, specialist appointments etc I feel like I need a small fortune to maintain myself these days. ❤️

Re: Depression

@hanami I agree. Feels like I need to win the lotto just to get the health care that I need.

Re: Depression

Hey there @Alison2022

I feel you on this. It can be really misleading seeing all the 'Christmas cheer' around when in reality this is a really hard time of year for so many people. You definitely aren't alone with how you are feeling, and I am sitting with you during this time.

Sending virtual hugs,

Re: Depression

Hi @Alison2022 and welcome

i can relate to your feelings. for me i am known as the 'odd sheep of the family' so im often excluded or going to family events is hard for me and awkward rather then enjoyable. it often brings on stress anxiety and depression as well.

i dont have much advice as i tend to just ride out the feelings till christmas is over but wanted you to know your not alone

Re: Depression

I’m sorry that things are like that for you @outlander.

I don’t so much feel excluded but just that everyone else is so excited and happy and every step of the day is a struggle for me.

Re: Depression

christmas is a struggle for so many @Alison2022

maybe you could start your own christmas tradion, something to get excited over or something to look forward to.
