Re: Morning has broken

Sounds like a busy time @Eve7 ! So much of your travel is around sport? Sounds so cool. It's way beyond me because I'm totally not sports inclined, but it sounds way out there!

Hope you are well @Eve7  🙂

Re: Morning has broken

Thanks @tyme . No, I’m not well and have come home with a uti grr.

I also brought gd2 home with me for two nights. We had fun especially yesterday which was S2’s anniversary. A whole year has passed by since his sudden death. We made the most of the day eating his favourite food and going out to his favourite restaurant last night. So we did get through the day ok.

Today I drove gd2 to her mother’s which was a 200kms round trip. The traffic was horrendous with (it seemed) all of Brisbane heading to the Gold Coast for Easter. Arrived home eventually and still trying to motivate myself eat.

Looking forward to bed. I’ll email you soon.

Cheers

Eve7

Re: Morning has broken

Oh no!!!! UTIs are terrible! @Eve7 . I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for sharing how you celebrated the annivesary. For many, it can really bring them down, but the idea of 'celebrating' their life is so so powerful. I really appreciate you sharing this as I never really thought of it that way.

I'm glad your GD2 can stay with you a bit. I'm sure she enjoyed it. How old is she now? 8? 10?

Do you think the drive added to your UTI?

Re: Morning has broken

Gd2 will be 8 in June…time flies! I took her running last night as she has her school cross country next week @tyme

The drive didn’t help but it had been brewing for a few days. I have antibiotics now.

My DIL made a lantern boat which she put on the sea for S2. We try to celebrate but it’s not easy.

Re: Morning has broken

Hi @Eve7

Sorry to hear you have come home unwell. Hopefully you get the right meds and recover quickly.

Oh gosh, a year already since the tragic passing of your S2. Time flies doesn't it?  Yesterday also marked the 4 year anniversary of my husband's sudden passing.

I'm glad you were able to enjoy some of your son's favourite food at his fav restaurant in remembrance of him. I had a scotch on the rocks to salute my hubby, his drink of choice.

I hope you have been able to motivate yourself to prepare something to eat tonight. You need to keep up your strength. 💕

Re: Morning has broken

So your GD is sporty too @Eve7 ?

Re: Morning has broken

4 years @Emelia8 that has flashed by quickly. Good idea to have a scotch on the rocks for hubby.

Ive just eaten reheated spaghetti bol I made for gd2 on Monday night. It’s all gone now so I might have to cook tomorrow….we’re doing Passover, our family’s favourite meal.

@tyme , I’ll let you know after the cross country if gd2 is sporty! She does competitive roller skating so I think she’s pretty fit and good to back for the win!…so says biased Granny!

Re: Morning has broken

Awwww @Eve7

That's so special - to have her granny cheer her on. Totes amazing!

My niece is a swimmer. Swims 5 days a week. Starts at 5am. She's 6 years old and she WANTS to do it. Then she's in comp every Saturday.

Re: Morning has broken

My boys swam @tyme so I was at the pool every morning at 6am. Your niece is very committed for a 6y old. It’s a big commitment for child and family.

Re: Morning has broken

Wow... It's a helluva committment, I'd say! My sister keeps asking her if she wants to quit, but my neice is determined... and yeah, she's only 6 years old! So her dad takes her at 5am each day. @Eve7

In my eyes, if she's got the drive to do it, we need to support that.... but if it were me? Nah, no thanks lol.

I'll stick to walking the dog.
