Re: Trying makes it worse

Re: Trying makes it worse

hey there  @Appleblossom     Hope all the shop front windows are smiling back at you mate.

Yes . . . .   I know its hard to believe. . .  Me running a commercial kitchen.   Let me tell you.

Cairns back then was the land of opportunity.  Every 2nd shop,  sign in the window wanting someone who could work at something.

Koala resorts had a place north of the Daintree river,  few thousand acres of jungle with a few huts and a bar.  I had a  4 WD  motor home and unbeknown to me was illegally camped on their beach for a couple of months,  Only used to see one person every morning while using my throw net for tucker.  She eventually talked to me,  one thing led to another and they started me off in the kitchen.

Two cyclones in quick succession and I got offered the keys to the kitchen at their hotel in Cairns city centre.  All stainless kitchen.  Had been opened in years,  A budget and cairns markets close by.    We were doing 50 to 60 meals a night.  Good pack packers for help and freedom to express and trust,

A leader with patience can get me to do anything . . !,  and that my friend is how I learnt how to run things here.

Every now and then you'll see me suggest to someone,  if they exhaust all avenues in the quest for change to there life.   Don't  just Dismiss the small motor home escape without

consideration.  I  lived that life for 15 years  and packed 2 lifetimes of adventures way better

than the above.

Best if Its   4 wd  and not to big.  Otherwise your restricted to caravan parks n people. . .

O H  and take a Zodiac fast roller inflatable and a  6  Hp  motor.  Once you get past

Rockhampton ,  you can                            'Island hop"      fishing ,   oysters,  mud crabs,

painted crays,

O H  man . . .  I can't wait to finish this town, . . . and live of my wits again. . .

@LeChuck   @EternalFlower    @Shaz51    I know Its not a cure . . . . .

but It  will make being crook a lot more  . . . adventures,  and who  knows,   you may just

find an answer  or a new friend..      take care folks

O H  and apple    . . . .  gently   Holden . .      Oh boy I wanted to say that.

How are you going fighting your battles friend?

LeChuck x

Re: Trying makes it worse

So healthy @LeChuck and also how u frame it...its release and human. I hope ur ok.

@tonys the caravan life is the life of no strings and i agree it is a good idea...the less we have.

My cousin from o seas always finds it so weird the goals that govern us all in Australia...we want a house and a tv and a garden and...then want? I thought i was stuffed up because i didnt have those but really they dont mean much..ive met people in hospital who have had a lot and have less now and it sounds like the lot didnt solve their problems.

I would love to live in a quiet spot and they say ppl with ptsd love rural areas and thrive there.

In hospital sometimes its so odd but i feel less lonely when i have no privacy i think too much alone time can impair my mh

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi  @EternalFlower   well   mate .   there are about  300,000 folks in vans and motor homes at any givin time  and In that group is a mob called the  Solos  That just for people traveling on there own.   We used to travel and party in little groups for company . . .  and safety.

most are female just like you,  looking for answers   and adventures.    bonfires,  music,

dancing out back stars and campfire cooking,   too much to mention here. . .

Maybe when you are a little better .  . think about it.    Meantime,   give it a google. Wanderer magazine has lots of stuff in it.   And the smaller your rig is,  the more fun people you'll

meet.

Where ever you are ,   my thoughts  are right next to yours friend.

tonys   moonbase 1,

will   wright again soon when I have a little more time.     Big sqeezy   hug

Re: Trying makes it worse

Yep I'm learning how to be vulnerable and take off my smiling armour sometimes @EternalFlower.

Can attest to how good the country life is for mental health. My MH riddled self and my PTSD partner moved a couple of years ago. It's good. People are kinder and actually say hello to strangers instead of looking at the ground and pretending each other doesn't exist. It's nice.

How's thing with you?

LeChuck xx

Re: Trying makes it worse

I love that @LeChuck that you and your partner find people take the time to say hello and are friendlier.

Im back in le'hospital...its ok, first days were good, my nervous system calmed down....

It is a weird vibe a weird time a weird space but im ok.

I made friends with a guy here and he advised me how to make a perfect hospital snack and there's no looking back now...my snack game has lifted.

I am doing well ish and ok ish and maybe bit overwhelmed with all the moving back and forth but ok.

How was group today? Do u ever do mindful coloring? They seen to like that here

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi guys, wow a motor home and travelling around the country sounds so fun and free. Maybe I will look into it as something to plan for the future. At the moment stuck here as hubby needs a knee replacement. Money is also a limitation, but we own the house so we could just leave it for a while if we wanted. My son would look after it.
